RENATUS ANNOUNCES RECENT AND UPCOMING SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATIONS IN ATHEROSCLEROSIS AND ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Daejeon, South Korea - September 21, 2026 - Renatus Inc., a biotechnology company developing cyclodextrin-based therapeutics targeting dysregulated cholesterol homeostasis, today announced recent and upcoming scientific presentations at three conferences in Korea and Hong Kong. The presentations highlight research conducted in collaboration with academic partners in atherosclerosis and neurodegenerative disease, including the discovery and characterization of structurally defined single-isomer cyclodextrins designed to modulate intracellular cholesterol.

The research is being presented at the Korean Society for Neurodegenerative Disease (KSND) 2026, the International Congress on Lipid & Atherosclerosis (ICOLA) 2026, and the upcoming International Society for Molecular Neurodegeneration (ISMND) 2026 meeting. Korean Society for Neurodegenerative Disease (KSND) 2026

September 5, 2026 | Seoul, South Korea

  • Renatus presented two studies examining intracellular cholesterol dysregulation in tau-associated neurodegeneration and the potential of cyclodextrin-based approaches to modulate these processes.

Title: Modulation of Intracellular Cholesterol in Tau-Induced Microglial Dysfunction

Title: Single-Isomer Cyclodextrins Show Improved Cholesterol-Modulating Activity in a Cellular Model of Tauopathy

International Congress on Lipid & Atherosclerosis (ICOLA) 2026

September 10–12, 2026 | Seoul, South Korea

  • At ICOLA 2026, Renatus presented results from the screening of its single-isomer cyclodextrin library, which led to the identification of a lead candidate with favorable cholesterol-modulating activity, cellular safety, and activity in macrophage-based models relevant to atherosclerosis.

Title: A Novel Cyclodextrin Derivative Modulates Macrophage Lipid Accumulation and Inflammatory Responses Relevant to Atherosclerosis

The International Society for Molecular Neurodegeneration (ISMND) 2026

October 20–23, 2026 | Kowloon, Hong Kong

  • Renatus will present additional findings from its single-isomer cyclodextrin program at ISMND 2026.

Title: Discovery of Single-Isomer Cyclodextrins with Improved Cholesterol-Modulating Activity in a Cellular Model of Tauopathy

Together, these presentations reflect Renatus’ ongoing research into intracellular cholesterol homeostasis across cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. The company is developing structurally defined cyclodextrin molecules to better understand structure–activity relationships and to explore their therapeutic potential in diseases associated with lipid dysregulation and cellular dysfunction.

Renatus plans to continue advancing selected candidates through preclinical evaluation and to further investigate the therapeutic potential of cholesterol modulation across multiple disease areas.

About HPβCD

Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) has been clinically explored for its ability to mobilize intracellular cholesterol, beginning with its first administration to Niemann–Pick Type C (NPC) patients in 2009 under compassionate-use programs. Since then, HPβCD has progressed into both intrathecal and intravenous clinical studies, including the development of VTS-270 (Adrabetadex) and Trappsol® Cyclo™. Beyond NPC, HPβCD has also been investigated in other cholesterol-related conditions including atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. While clinical studies have shown signs of therapeutic potential, no HPβCD-based therapy has yet received regulatory approval.

About Renatus

Renatus is a biotechnology company developing next-generation cholesterol modulators designed to address the underlying lipid dysregulation that drives a wide range of diseases including atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic kidney disease, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), and cancer. The company focuses on translating innovative cyclodextrin chemistry into safer and more effective therapeutic options, aiming to broaden the clinical utility of cyclodextrins and deliver meaningful benefits to patients who require cholesterol modulation.
